The Best Cruiseline
Onboard Signage Displays For The Best Cruiseline.
We designed a signage display app for their onboard screens.
At a multinational brand with thousands of employees, customers, and a number of solutions, it is important to keep track of a uniform branding and design. As part of their new design system, The Best Cruiseline asked us to redesign their signage displays that are used on their 82 ocean & river cruise ships.
As part of the new design system, we made sure the branding is consistent and the displays provide an interactive way to view information to the guests.
Mobile App Design.
We designed a signage app that allows cruise passengers to explore the ship and all its benefits through screens.
UX & UI Design.
We designed a user interface that is easy to use, fits the brand, other apps, and can be scaled up to other devices.
Document & Stationary Design.
We documented the design system, our process, and designs. And helped them design presentations as well.
Concepting & Consultancy.
We provided consultancy and made concepts for several features of the apps and design system.
We designed a cross-device design system.
This project is part of a bigger design system we created for The Best Cruiseline. It helps us structure designs and create a consistent branding and user interface across multiple devices. An ideal solution for a multinational with numerous different apps and supported devices.
The design system also made managing design, features and changes more easy. And it saves time in development & minimizes mistakes.
What is a design system?
To get to know more about design system structures, why they are used, and if it's something for your brand, take a look at the page we dedicated to them. We explain everything and show you how to use them.
Up-to-date on the latest news & other special features.
Since the screens are displayed on a cruise ship and have a set location, we made sure guests could still be up-to-date with the latest news, if they wanted to. In the morning just scroll through, before picking a breakfast spot.
The context of the screens also triggers different features. Providing special information if the screen is located near a theater, restaurant or elevator.
Our base colors.
These are some of the base colors that were set as materials in the design system of the app, tv, and signage screens. These are used in different tints & contexts.
Know exactly where to go.
The context of a screen determines what is displayed. If a screen is located between the elevators, it displays the different decks and information on the current deck.
As an extra point for featured content, we also made sure it cycles randomly through the different events and restaurants available.
Rain? Let's go to the Spa.
Is it raining? Don't worry, just find one of the screens and check what the spa, theater, or restaurants have to offer. These screens provide guests with a more flexible way to explore the ship.
While it provides all information, the screens also give the shops an opportunity to highlight their quality products.
And many more features.
There are many more information pages the screens have to offer. For example, tracking the ship, browse excursions, see the crew, explore the deck plans, and many more.
